You've probably noticed how dead it's been around here lately. While it's true that the site is finally shutting down, it's because we're making something new in it's place. The focus is going to be shifting slightly from just games to a number of other subjects and we have been working on improving the quality of our work as well. The new site is unfortunately going to take a little time to put together, but in the meantime we'll be using a basic blog in it's place. The location is at n3rdgasm.com and our current URL will soon point there until it expires. So thanks for reading DBVG and we hope you continue to follow us at the new site because we're not even close to done!

Arriving in the mail from Amazon's release date shipping is my copy of Final Fantasy XIII-2. It should be waiting for me when I get home from work. I can't wait. Lets hope I can review this one and have it score more towards a 90%.

In case your interested in how the previous game reviewed check it out here. http://otaku-guru.blogspot.com/2011/07/guru-reviews-final-fantasy-xiii.html

Electric Wave People RPG. (電波人間のRPG) is a game for the 3DS which allows players to use the 3DS camera to see the floating electric wave people in real life and grab them. After they are captured you can train them and take them in a party on quest through RPG dungeons. Looks pretty nifty if you ask me.

(Editor's note: READERS BEWARE! I don't know what the author was thinking, but this one's a little....below standard. I suggest that any civilized person with an IQ above 90 skips the caption below.)

Cheaters beware! Cheating has been scientifically proven to minimize your penis size so please use these cheats at your own risk! I didn't even look at the page due to these new findings (That's why it's not scanned correctly!) As for you ladies, be careful as your boobs might get smaller and smaller until you are a -A cup size! MUAHAHAHAHHAHA!

So here we have a game that needs no introduction. Every other FPS developer today should have a portrait of this game in their studio. Doom changed the way we looked at FPS and turned out to be a classic for the ages. Is it still fun to this day? Lets find out!
Doom as very popular for many things and the music was one of them. With such a great soundtrack, the PC version turned out to be the most played shareware ever. This was even before internet became a household name! Turning to the Playstation version, I was shocked that they took out the original soundtrack but instead added a very interesting soundtrack. You mostly hear monsters and what not in the background with a mix of environmental music. It's quite freaky at times especially when you are in very dark rooms. I must say it doesn't make me miss the PC version's soundtrack and gives a twist to an already twisted game. Graphics in this game are everything you could hope for. The blood is there, levels are detailed, and everything looks to be in place. Overall, you have a very fun and viewable version of Doom that will keep you in pace to the finish line. I'm sure you won't get lost. Also, I'm glad you can still shoot near the acid barrels to blow up your enemies to pieces. That's always so enjoyable. The developers of this game were savvy enough to make good use of the Playstation controller. Not only are not going to miss your keyboard but you'll also have an easy time getting used to the controller. You'll be using R1 and L1 buttons quite often as they are the ones that make you move left or right in order to dodge your enemies attacks especially those fireballs. You will be able to battle any enemies with easy movement! In the end, this is Doom! You can't any better than this. This is probably one of the most replayable FPS games ever. You can go through it, get your password, and continue later. You then finish the game and start the game again. The thing is that this game has such enjoyable gameplay especially with blowing up your enemies that it becomes addictive. You can always go back to this game and replay each level, discover its secrets, and have a great time. You must find all the secrets period! To conclude this entry, the game is a perfect port of the PC version and would be a great addition to any FPS fan especially from the golden age of FPS. You will have lots of endless hours of fun with this one. If you really want to be mega old school, you can always get another Playstation with another TV set and another copy of Doom to play against each other. This is how things were done back then! Hope you enjoyed this week's pick!

Having seen this game more than once, I had to talk about it. Super Wonderful Mario can go by many games such as Super Mario USA, Super Mario Bros 2, and even Super Bros 8. This game can be full of surprises so I had to get a copy of it. I managed to get it through eBay believe it or not and played through it. The version I got was Super Mario USA which was renamed "Super Mario 5" for some reason. With pirates, you never know what you are gonna get.

So speaking of the pirate, the cartridge can bring three known games. I'm not sure about the odds, but I think you would be happy with either game. In reality, it's only a shot at getting two games, Super Bros 8 or Super Mario USA. I of course would have loved to get a Super Bros 8 but others might like the magic of a hacked Doki Doki Panic. The copy I got of Super Wonderful Mario that came with Super Mario 5 which is actually Super Mario USA although the speed of the game is faster. It's like an overclocked game! It's odd though because the only thing that speeds up is the music. Mario and company are just their ordinary selves.

Everyone should be familiar with this one. With so many incarnations over the years in such consoles as the SNES, Wii, and even the handheld GBA this game has been well known. Originally called Doki Doki Panic in Japan as a Famicom Disk System release, the game had nothing to do with the Mario Brothers saga. Furthermore, pirate or not the game is as awesome and memorable as ever. If you ever run into Super Wonderful Mario in the wild, I suggest you pick it up. You will get a shot at a very wonderful game indeed and maybe some weirdness along the way. I hope you liked this pick and I'll see you next time with another pirate title!

New Trailer for Resident Evil 6. Looks like they are going back to the survival horror with more emphasis on horror. Plus the return of Leon! Looks promising.

With the infinity of multi-carts for the Famicom it was very tough to find one to pick as an essential title. This one made it as it's one of the most common multi-carts people played in the golden era of Famicom pirating especially down in South America and parts of Europe. The game comes with some of the most memorable first run fifty eight games for the Famicom/NES. I can guarantee you will find something to play in this cart.

I wanna play me some Big Apes!

As you can see here is the list of all the games. As with all pirates, some of these titles are not the correct ones but you pretty much get the idea of what each might be. If you have played pirates in the past, you will get familiarized with the names. Overall, this is a great cart to pick up and play with a friend or when you want to play some classics. You will have your Mario, Pac-Man, Bomberman, and even Adventure Island. There is much to love so I highly recommend this one. Be sure to check eBay for these as they pop in once in a while. Until next week!
